Yesterday I tried so hard to delete a Query Loop Block from my WordPress post, not knowing what it is and the purpose it serves. According to WordPress.com’s support article, a Query Loop Block displays posts and other content based on certain customizable criteria like category, tag, or publish date.
As I mentioned in previous post, I wanted to delete the block due to a post using starter template. And I couldn’t delete it until I figured out that Post and Page are two different things!
Today I’m a learned man; I figured out how to display the posts in certain pages only by assigning them categories. But of course it’s not even scratching the surface yet.
Last night, I realized that a simple website that only posts personal notes like this might not be that useful for future clients or employers, so I need to figure out several things.
First things first, I need to complete About Me section, maybe flourish it a bit by talking about the site logo and name, rather than the usual “Here’s my name, expertise, education, and experience. Now hire me”. Hopefully the future readers can get a grasp of who I am as a person.
Secondly, I need to start figuring out how the WooCommerce work to add products to Mockups. Getting the proper mockup photos, descriptions, call-to-action, payment gateway, and some kind of account system to tie it all together. With the current template I’m using, probably 6 products will be enough? Well, fingers crossed.
Third, figuring out the Services page. What do I want to offer? Pricing? Payment? I’m also considering doing a Perfomance Max campaign to boost traffic, and maybe also getting some leads. But to do that I need to figure out the Conversions. Which means Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
As a recap for myself: About Me, Mockups, Services, GA, GTM, Google Ads. Seems like I won’t have running out of things to do at the moment. Here’s to a productive day!
